One of the major causes of fire and electric accidents is messy, unorganized cable wires. With so many electronics that we use on a daily basis, it’s important to make sure that all wires are properly tucked and organized. Still having a hard time doing that? Here are some ideas on how to keep your cable wires organized to prevent accidents:
- Put labels to your plugs
In organizing, the first rule is to always label things. That way, it will be easier for you to figure out which plug is for which appliance or device. You don’t need fancy labels. In fact, a strip of masking tape will do.
- Wrap long wires
If not organized properly, long wires can add to your clutter and can be a pain. Thus, the wise move is to wrap excess wires and make sure that the length is just enough to reach the outlet.
- Build Your Charging Station
Create a separate space for charging your devices. It will be easier to just plug all your device chargers in one location.
- Assign a separate outlet for huge appliances
Huge appliances like refrigerator, washing machine, and air conditioner have larger energy consumption. Therefore, it’s important to assign a separate outlet for these appliances so there won’t be a power overload.
- Use extensions wisely
Don’t overload your outlets by plugging in too many extensions to cater all your appliances or devices. Remember, a power outlet can only handle so much.
These things are basic and easy to do, but they can sure save you from more serious problems in the future.
